If you’re going to stay in Turkey for less than 90 days, you don’t need to register your IMEI and can safely ignore this article.
According to Turkish laws, foreigners staying in Turkey for more than 90 days have 90 days to 180 days before the IMEI is blocked.
Please Note: IMEI countdown is cumulative. The IMEI will be blocked after 120 days. If you leave the country and come back — the days will be added.
What is IMEI registration?
IMEI registration is a process that allows you to use your foreign phone in Turkey. It involves registering the phone's IMEI number with the Turkish government. The IMEI number is a unique identifier that is assigned to every mobile phone.
How to check if my device is being blocked?
For iPhones:
- Go to Settings > General > About.
- Copy IMEI2 code.

I need to register my phone. What should I do?
Once you check the IMEI and find that it is not registered, you need to pay the registration tax by paying the fee at https://www.turkiye.gov.tr/btkuluslararasi-daimi-veri-dolasimi. Otherwise, your phones will be blacklisted by Turkish CEIR and will be banned from Turkish MNO networks after 30 days.
